About SiaCorrina
My name is SiaCorrina Durocher and I am the founder of SC Studio. I live in Athens, Greece and feel that a lot of my inspiration comes from living by the Aegean Sea.

I have been playing with metal, beads and stones for over 18 years; I began learning about metal and jewelry making when I was living in Central America in my early twenties. During the four years I spent living/travelling in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico I learned about two part/air dry clay, marble carving, metalsmithing, gemstones, and most of all - myself. Those were the four most interesting years of my young life at the time!
At the tender age of 22, I stopped travelling and creating and began working ... I moved to the USA and tried so many types of work - waitress, bartender, receptionist, etc ... Nothing seemed to fit.
Eventually, I went back to university and completed two degrees - one in Spanish (seemed like the logical choice as I was already fluent from living in Central America for four years!) and one in teaching. I then worked as a teacher for a few years ... I still felt like something was missing - I just couldn't quite figure out what it was.
I was 33 years old before I realized that my main desire was to create ... to create beautiful things ... to fill my days with imagination and passion ... to lay my head on my pillow at night knowing I had added something new to my world ... in essence, to follow my heart and my spirit. Now, in my 40's, I can honestly say that life has never been sweeter for me.
It took me a long time to listen to my heart and to follow it, but now that I have, I don't feel as though anything is missing anymore. As my ideas turn into creations, I can feel the circle of energy being completed within me. I am excited everyday.
I feel as though each of us has an obligation to create beauty in our world and I am so happy to have found my way of contributing to that creation. My sincerest hope is that we can all find that which fulfils us and that we can then share that joy with those around us.
Oh. So you want to know more? Ok, how about a bit about what I like to do?
I love the sea. I love to do anything by, in, around and on the sea. My husband and I enjoy scuba diving and sea-kayaking together in the summer and we like to ski in the mountains of the Peloponnese in the winter. I love riding my bicycle, especially in the late afternoon after working in the studio all morning - I ride down to the sea and refresh myself in the cool blue waters.
I like to write and have been exploring this area of my creative life lately. My first manuscript is in the editing process and I am hoping to publish my first book in the upcoming year! This is a very exciting adventure for me!
I like to take walks on the country roads around my house and explore the mountains that lead to the sea. I love the smell of the wild thyme and oregano and rosemary that make their homes in the dry soil of the Greek landscape.
I like to drink Guinness and watch rugby. I love to drink wine and laugh with friends. I love to eat good food and feel satisfied. I love to live my every moment creatively and so live my life to its fullest potential and joy.
I am sure that is enough now...
But just in case you are curious, here is what living creatively means to me.
What does living a creative life mean to you?
I would love to hear your thoughts ... please.
Tell me about your creative life - send me an email at scstudiogreece@hotmail.com and type 'my creative life' in the subject box! I look forward to hearing from you!!
